I am new to pc building and to this forum and my question is how much more challenging is a Xeon build in comparison to normal consumer build for a first time pc builder? Does it need some extra precision and expertise?

I want to build an editing system and considering single xeon e3-1246 v3 cpu(3.50 GHz, quad core, 8 threads and 8MB cache) based systemhttp://ark.intel.com/products/80916/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E3-1246-v3-8M-Cache-3_50-GHz; will it be a good enough choice for my uncompressed source footage from Panasonic lumix dmc FZ1000 ( 1" image sensor) that records 1080p @ 28 Mbps and 4K @ 100 Mbpshttp://.

i'll be using Adobe Premier Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve Lite, Handbrake, Blender and Gimp. My editing work will require 2D/3D animation and live action compositing so i'll working with a few layers of videos and VFXs within a single frame. And i'll be downscaling 4K to 1080p. i can bear the longer rendering time but processing efficiency of the cpu is a concern?

There are few constraints with Xeon cpus like.. http://ark.intel.com/compare/80917,80916,80915,75464,75462,80811
1.Intel® Flexible Display Interface (Intel® FDI) ?
2.Graphics Video Max Memory ?
3.Intel® Insider™ ?
4.Intel® Wireless Display NOT an issue
5.Intel® My WiFi Technology NOT an issue

On account of 1,2 & 3 am i loosing on something significant?

Intel Xeon E3-1246 v3 comes with Intel® HD Graphics P4600 iGPU and i can add one dedicated GPU to it...am i right??

My apology for my not good English.
There are more queries but i guess these are more than enough to start with? Looking for help and direction from all the generous folks.

Thanks

Solution
It's no more challenging than your standard Intel CPU. You can just plug that into a Z97 board and it'll work fine. It's a great alternative to the Core i7 and will work fine with any dedicated GPU. Don't worry about the first 3 features, that's server grade stuff.

Thank You Very Much Sir, You have resolved 5 out of 6 queries. and that in real quick time.

is intel xeon e3-1246 v3 good enough for the kind of editing work i'll be doing on it...

Thanks

if i am not getting irritating...what about e3-1226 v3, with all the specs same to e3-1246 v3 except 3.30 GHz clock speed? will it also get my job done?

Ohh !! i completely missed out on threads column. Back on track now.

Next thing i want to ask; although You've mentioned about it in previous thread, just for the confirmation sake..Are all the Z97 1150 socket motherboards compatible with the Xeon E3-12** v3 series processors?

Not yet made a decision but narrowed it down to may be one of 2GB Radeon HD 7000 series...suggestions are welcome
