e31231v3, H97p D3 mobo. gx750psu. Gtx 750 ti, predator case.

Its a new budget build.I need to know which would be the best ram for me. I don't really game but my sons do a bit of Doom etc. I do stream with Kodi, putlocker type sites. Mainly I have loads of tabs open. Run 3 screens but only browsing.

I know nothing about ram and as its a xeon. I need some input. I don't need anything to expensive.

regards

No, don't concern yourself with the numbers, they have something to do with the latency but to the average person they don't mean much. Recommendations, for a budget build, something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428&cm_re=ddr3_8gb_1600-_-20-231-428-_-Product
I have used this RAM myself and never had any problems.

The RAM your mobo and cpu uses is DDR3 with a maximum speed of 1600MHz. For best results you want to use the dual channel, which means adding 2 sticks of RAM.....your mobo instructions will tell you which slots to use for dual channel. You probably don't need any more than 8GB in total, so 2 X 4GB of DDR 3 1600MHz would be fine.

Brilliant! I did think that and then over thought everything and got lost..

Any recommends on brand etc. I also saw different numbers on them like 9-9-9-11 (totally made up). Do I have to worry about these numbers?
