Xeon E5649 compatibility and OC.

Hi folks.

I have a Rampage II Extreme, brand new, and 24GB of DDR3-1600, i need a CPU, and i've seen the Xeon E5649 for very little money.

Te computer is going to be a dedicated server box, 24/7 operation, and multiple game servers, and web services, too.

Some questions:

A- Is this CPU compatible with the MoBo? A friend of mine has a 920 in case i have to upgrade the BIOS.

B- Another question, is this CPU capable of overclock?

C- Last question, for little money, can you reccomend a better alternative to this CPU?

Hmn, it looks very nice, and it's not too expensive, either. Thanks man, i think i'll get that one instead. I know all the consumer line of CPU's, but the server line is a lot more complicated, LOL.

I assume that CPU has no problem running on my MoBo, right?

looks good their are a few things you might need to do such as update bios and change blck but it should work.
