I found a product with a single x5660, z400(single socket) vs a dual x5660, z600. The z400 costs 33% less. Do you guys think dual cpu is any worth for just gaming? Or is any of the additional features in the Z600 worth the extra buck?
Update: I have more questions, do any of you know which one is better T3500 or z400 or z600?
Also, do I have to fill in only 3 slots while working with single cpu on dual sockets?

Solution
The Z400 can be modded some for gaming and even overclocked with an unlocked CPU. The Dual CPU machines require RDIMM RAM which can be cheaper but can only run the dual CPU Xeons which makes overclocking impossible on those. For gaming a 6 core 12thread CPU is all you need.
