Hello out there my name is scott i am new hear but not so new to technology, i have been building computers since 1996 however even I have many questions still to better myself in the knowledge of all the high tech words and technologies that seem to only grow in size daily. I have a Question about Xeon(R) CPU E31235 the question is this-- I have Socket: LGA1155, Clockspeed: Intel Core i3 3225 Code Name Ivy Bridge. however in device manager i show this--Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E31235 but as well I have Nvidia Geforce GTX 550 Ti DDR5-1GB PCI-E as well as IGPU "not useing this at the time but it is Intel HD 4000. can anyone explain what this entry is? I feel as if it is a dumb question.. thanks in advanced,

On first glance, it sounds to me as if you have a CPU with on-board graphics and a graphics card. The graphics card is more powerful, so the system is using the graphics card instead of onboard graphics. As it should be.

There are applications that can use that onboard graphics core to do transcoding, if you are doing video processing. Otherwise, just forget about it.
