Question Xeon support on Gigabyte GA-IMB410TN

Hello, I ask official gigabyte support and they say Xeon cpu (W 1290t I’m interested) is not on support list and that’s it. Even if motherboard support via official site just 65tdp cpu and on list are 125tdp cpu it’s fine 😂

So anyone know if I can use Xeon w 1290t on Gigabyte GA-IMB410TN? I would like to build audio pc based on that cpu and mobo

Since there are no Xeons on the supported CPU list, I would assume it will not work.

No i dont, i wanted purchase it but mobo its like 300e + 550e cpu a bit to expensive for experiments 😁

It is more than just physically fitting in the socket.

Yep now I know …. Hard to find available motherboard in Europe with DC IN (without atx) that can run Xeon cpu …. No idea if it’s exist

Those days are long gone (if they ever truly existed). There are many threads to attest to that incorrect notion.

Why the Xeon vice a known compatible CPU? What do you think it will provide that your use-case needs?

What about a server chassis with 48VDC power supplies. Most of the major manufacturers had hot-swap power supplies for servers that were 48VDC compatible for telecom installations.

I need linear psu for audio server that’s why dc ic like 28v is good solution. Atx linear also exist but they are terribly expensive

Use optical connectivity and move your server away from the delicate audio sources.
