Hi everyone
I have built a pc to have fun overclocking.
I have watercooled a xeon version x3220
The Motherboard is ga-x48-ds5. 2 ram slots are dead.
4gbs of 1066mhz
My gpu is a hotty gtx 480.
Wd black 640gb.
Im at 1.61 volts on the CPU at 3.8ghz.100% stable. At this speed is about half the speed of my 2600k. Or if I disable 2 of its core. @4.6ghz
I'm sort of stuck at this voltage for some reason which is one of my problems. If I increase the voltage anymore it goes up to 1.65.
Is there any other option in the bios to get any more out of this CPU?.
Would it be worth getting a xeon 5460? For $20 in hope to get 4.5ghz
For some reason the idle voltage is higher than the load at 1.63. Any ideas why.
Temps are fine at 69c for the hottest core.
This is just a fun pc. I got all that parts cheap. How much do you think?
Cheers for your Help.
