getting this card today, and just want to know what are the safe parameters i can overclock this card too. I know the 7600Gt XXX edition is running at 590mhz and 1600 mem clock.

Anyone has this card and tried it.

What?! STD edition? Why would you want a transmitted disease from a card? Can you even get one from a GPU?! What are you slotting it into to get something like that??! 8O

I have a friend who got his stable at 620 core, so you should be safe up to 600 i reckon. Not sure about the memory however, can't remember the memory speeds of my friend's card.

Thx for replies, it seems the XXX version is allready overclocked in the factory and cant be overclocked much more. The price of the XXX version compared to the STD version is also way off.

So i figured getting the STD version and overclocking it to reach the 590mhz and 1600 limits on it, should work.

Cant believe the company asks you more money to OC the card where one can do yourself for free

For a 7600GT card, I'd go with the BFG 7600GT OC. There's a $65 MIR over at Newegg. Total $85.

Not going to beat that deal, that's for sure.

Proper term these days is STI. Sexually transmitted infections.

There's 2 types, both are correct. Things such as HIV/AIDS are STDs whereas infections such as chlamydia (or however you spell it) are STIs, i believe.

I think you are paying for them to cover the warentey cause if you overclock the GS you void the warntey...but if the OEM does it themselves then they have to charge more to cover it.
