Hi All

Just managed to save up for XFX GTX 295N card, but it scored x10000 on 3d Mark Vantage 1.0.1.
My PC:

GA-965p-DS4 MB(GIGA BYTE)
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (2400 MHz)
6 GB Ram Dual Line
4 x Raid O Seagate 250GB SATA II 32MB

The other reviews shows without any overclocking it scored minimum of x23000

Is there something I am not doing or is it my pc that is too small? Phyx is enabled and dual gpu

Thank you~

adjust the memory to fsb ratio to get the memory as close to 800 mhz as possible or loosen up the memory timings or ad voltage (not too much...!). I would try bumping voltage to 2.2 first then lower the frequency untill it is stable, it should be stable higher than 800 if it is quality memory.

or take out the two 1gig sticks and see if that helps... ive had bad luck with all four bays populated and/or odd memory combos (such as two 2gig sticks and two 1gig sticks). 4 gigs shouldnt hold you back that much at all in most apps.

Hi ewood

I tried to overclock but keeps resetting even with just the 2 x 2gig ddrII 800 ram.

Bios Overclock: vF11
CPU Clk: x9
Frq: 333
Multiplier :2.5
Volttage: 1.275
(Multiplier does not have 2.4) so I used FRQ 320 to get Memory Frq to 800
PC works first time and on rebooot goes back to default. I even removed and replaced ram still the same.

Bios Overclock: vF11 (2nd attempt)
CPU Clk: x 8
Frq: 400
Multiplier: 2
Voltage:1.41875V

Just keeps rebooting and defaults again.

I really slipped up and dont have money to get another board and cpu and ram. Any help is much appreciated!
Thank you

dont forget that the i7 is running tri channel ddr3, and 6gb. that prolly blows your ram out of the water (assuimng its 800mhz, dual) windows will automatically use ram to make up for any graphicsa ram you dont have.

That voltage is way too high, the max safe voltage for a Q6600 is 1.37V.

Thank you~ I have lowered it to 1.3V straight and got it to 2997GHZ but bench no different!

Thanks cjl

Checked the link and verified! Goin to run the performance preset and check out the score will post it once done!

Thank you, atleast the card was not a total waste of money~

Just as a point of comparison - I just ran the Extreme preset on my system and got a score of 14926 (that's an i7 at 4.2GHz and a pair of 4870x2s). 10k for your setup isn't bad.
