That's what I got on my new pc and I can't get the fan to stop revving even though my temperatures are low. CPU at 33, MB at 27. I have an antec 900 two, so i got plenty of big fan action chilling out my system.

How can I stop this videocard fan from constantly fluctuating

Hi,

Try these settings,

>Jumper Free Configuration
Memory Clock Mode: Manual
Memclock Value: 800
DRAM Timing Mode: Both
TCL: 7
TRCD: 7
TRP: 7
TRAS: 20
Memory Overvoltage: 1.85V - 1.95V

The 996657 kit is rated to work at 7-7-7-20 @ DDR3-1600 at 1.85V to 1.95V, don't go over 1.95V as that is the maximum warranty voltage for this kit, lower voltage is fine as long as the system is stable. I don't know why Asus has the voltage turn red at such a low voltage, you will not damage anything by setting the Memory Overvoltage to 1.95V.

Yes 533 = 1066, well technically it should be 533 = DDR3-1066
The frequency that the BIOS and CPU-Z shows is the "real" frequency to get the DDR frequency you simply multiply by 2 (DDR = Double Data Rate)
You can call DDR3-1333 the "speed" although technically it should be frequency.

Some of these systems are having difficulty with stability at DDR3-1600, if you are still getting instability/freezing try this,

>Jumper Free Configuration
Memory Clock Mode: Manual
Memclock Value: 667
DRAM Timing Mode: Both
TCL: 6
TRCD: 6
TRP: 6
TRAS: 18
Memory Overvoltage: 1.85V - 1.95V

Any ideas why my video card benchmarks and overall performance would be hindered by the above bios changes? Any ideas on what I can do to fix the performance, while maintaining system stability?

I'm experiencing lower FPS during actual game play as well, not just benchmarks.
Any ideas on other bios settings, ways of overclocking, or anything else that could help balance out those other bios commands?

I also noticed that whenever I try to watch video's with my vlc player they skip ever 3-5 seconds, yet when I burn the videos and watch them off my pc they run fine. I don't know if that means my voltage settings are unstable or what.
