So I had my old XFX 7950 graphics card RMAed because it was defective. In its place I was sent in a matter of days a brand new R9 280! I must say I am really impressed as the new card seems to retail for about $270 on amazon, exactly how much I paid for my old card about 3.5 years ago.

Aside from the problem of maybe not being able to fit it inside the case because of the size, is my power supply adequate for it? The box recommends a 750w but I have a 550 w Antec Basiq Power model. I seem to remember at the time I got my last card it was important that a certain numbers of amps be present on a certain plug like 12v? Not sure. I'm not doing anything fancy. Gaming, with 1 22 inch screen, no overclocking of anything. What do you guys think? This is the PSU I have:

Solution
It depends on what CPU you have. The card draws around 250w on load. It should be fine. If you add the CPU mobo, GPU and 10w drives it should be okay
