Ensure that ALL cables are connected properly, including the CPU ATX_12V power supply.

Also check that the DIMM's and video card are seated properly.

Reset/clear BIOS.

If computer still doesn't boot/start, then try ONE DIMM at a time, and in each slot.

If computer still doesn't start, try some other DIMM's (borrow them?), and/or try the original DIMM's in another computer (friend, neighbor etc).

If computer still doesn't start, remove video card and try it in another computer. And/or try using integrated graphics.

If computer still doesn't start, then the motherboard is probably faulty.
Well if your psu did actually make a "bang" type of noise then it probably blew up a capacitor or more meaning that you should replace it (unless of course you have an educational background on these things - meaning you could fix it by yourself). The other parts of the computer will probably be ok, since nowadays it is pretty rare from a quality brand psu to actually cause damage to other parts of your system. The only way to check them, apart from just looking at them for some obvious damage or funny smell coming out of them, is to connect another psu and see if it is booting normally. As far as the quality of the XFX power supplies goes, you are going to hear some mixed opinions. Every one at a point in their lives might get a bad sample regardless of the brand that they use. I think that you might have been one of those minorities. In the past a had an xfx 850 watt psu that kept going for almost 8 years, until a day which i had a leak in my watercooling setup that lead to a major damage to all my parts on my pc including that psu....
