XFX Quicksilver AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT Magnetic Air GPU hits record low price

I'd consider this card but the average buyer may just go with a 4060 16 VRAM for roughly the same price.(If that's still available). It seems many people are intrigued with ray tracing and nvidia. Which is fine.Personally I think this card would be a good deal for 400 bux.I think AMD could still make a profit there but maybe not. There's been so much talk about how much this stuff costs that I get wary of it.It seems there's at least a general push from the tech media to exaggerate the costs these companies pay.And yes I know making this stuff IS super expensive.
It's possible I'm just being unreasonable despite my knowledge of how corporations work. They can do some scummy stuff as some of you know.

Personally don't know anyone "intrigued" by RT or Nvidia, at least not at this end of the market...

Ya that's why I said 'it seems'. I don't know the buying habits of the average shopper for GPU's.But I'm positive nvidia advertises heavily and says clearly on any GPU that will run it, no matter if it's subpar on the 'lower end' models.

I read some reviews for this and it consumes 350 to 380 watts. They say it is quiet also.It seems the size of it close to a 4090. Could that be because AMD are less efficient compared to nvidia?

Idk what review did you read but from TPU review, a sapphire nitro 7800xt uses 278 at max load. Maybe you're talking about the 7900xtx?

At least one is a 7900xt. with 340 watts.EDIT: I used the link to amazon listed by the article and most of the reviews say it's for a 7900xt card. And scroll to the top of the page and it says the actual product is a 7800xt. That's not good.
Accidentally or on purpose that's an unacceptable mistake.Maybe amazon doesn't need to worry about accuracy but it's not a good look.It doesn't make Toms look the best either.

When there is a option to buy a different version of something they pull all the reviews together.
In on case

  • RX 7600 QICK
    £264.52
  • RX 7600 SWFT
    £240.40
  • RX 7700 XT
    13 options from £384.54
  • RX 7800 XT MERC
    £452.53
  • RX 7800 XT QICK
    £420.01
  • RX 7900 GRE
    £514.59
Are all an option on the same page and so are the reviews for all of them.

The biggest font is used by the name of the card.Under that in small letters it says xfx store. And right by it are listed user reviews. There are also 4 'panels' for 4 different models and the one that is selected is the same as this article and the default at amazon from the link. And even then it shows reviews from a much more expensive GPU than the gpu you think you're reading reviews of.And in my selection there was a rx 570 that wasn't checked and some of those reviews came through anyway.IDK , maybe it's too difficult to have the review you're reading be the same as the product you're looking at.

The fans are sorta cool but it seems it'd be a good idea to have a few spares.I think the review says that too .A toddler or pup sees they come off they'll be gone.
