XFX R9 280 Boost fans

Two days ago I bought this graphics card and after I installed it, I powered on the computer and the displays and everything would work, but I noticed that the fans were not spinning, even after 5 to 10 minutes of running. I am just wondering, does this card have a sleep mode for the fans like the Asus strix series? or are the fans just dead.

Hello,

These fans do have an idle state mode, but they will automatically turn on at post and windows until the CCC loads. If the temperatures are low enough, they shuold idle and sit still (under ~40'C). I am not certain if all models have this feature, however, if you put it under a load or open a youtube video, they will absolutely spin. If they fans aren't spinning, it means the fan controller might have died. This requires an RMA to fix/replace.
