XFX R9 280A Notorious for VRM Heating Issues?

You linked it at NewEgg. Its got 4 eggs. 83% love it. And it is a very rare product that gets any better than 4 eggs (stars) anywhere. Especially since so many people that have never done this for a living do it.

My experience is that if 80% or higher love something, its pretty good. But anything can fail.

With only 38 reviews, many people would argue that it is not large enough for an accurate review. Some other people would argue that many of the reviewers do not really own the product. 38 reviews is too low to consider it convincing. And since the number of reviews are too low to consider it credible, this questions is really for those who own the card or know someone that has the card.

But your input is greatly appreciated.

Your speculations are appreciated but I would not put my money on that. Any product that has low amount of reviews is not accurate information.

I have to agree with what MarkW said. Really if there was an issue most people will insult, give thumbs down, negative comments. Since there are more positives in this case, the card has not been faulty for majority of customers.
Sometimes the gpu issue is because of poor psu or a need for a driver update, some guys comments without finding the issue.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It's their money that they are putting on the line. 38 reviews is not enough reviews to consider it reliable information. There are people will lie about the product with negative or positive feed backs. 38 is not enough reviews in order for it to be reliable information. It's their money and they can do whatever you want with it.

Okay, enough of this opinions as to how many number of reviews is acceptable to be considered reliable information! Lets go with the facts. Anyone who owns the XFX R9 280A and did you run into VRM issues?

Hey guys,

We don't have any known issues with VRM's overheating in this series. My guess is that people don't know the temperature ranges for VRM's and assume 105'C is absurd... our VRM's should be rated for over 145'C, and ideally settle around 90-105'C under full load. When comparing GPU temps and CPU temps, some people think they are 1 and the same.

Of course there will always be exceptions and issues will occur, so when they do, let me know and ill be happy to sort it out. (or visit xfxsupport.com)
