XFX r9 280x stuttering

I have recently bought an r9 280x. Ever since I got it, the card has been a complete nightmare and ironically, causes me to not play hard like the box says. In every game I play I have gotten stutter, after stutter, after stutter. I have returned the card for a new one, and I still have the problem. I've tried different power supplies, different machines, everything. At this point I am distressed and feel like giving up and switching back to nvidia, even though I have had three radeon cards in the past that have done me good. Anyone please get back to me. I have checked temperatures and they are fine. At this point I want to flash my bios but dont want to mess up my card

I have tried the cards on an EVGA 600w psu and also an EVGA 850 watt. Both stuttered. The cpus on both benches were one was an fx 8300 and an i5 2500k, both ahd 12 gigs of ram, both had a WD blue 2TB HDD. Both stuttered. I've played CS:GO, GTA V, BF4, COD black ops 2, which didn't stutter, assassins creed, Team fortress, half life, etc. all have lagged again. except for black ops 2

just to add look at this best answer here and I look at [googled] 280x no mantle support and theres a few things on it and some games ??

now I wonder if any of it was resolved by amd or if the issues still remains like with BF ??
