Question XFX rx 6950 xt loud fan noise, switch and temp questions

Just got a new build with the XFX merch rx 6950 xt. As soon as i am in a game with 4K the fan noises is getting high.

It is very loud compared to a rtx 4070ti. Would guess its 60% louder. Temps is messured two places on amd, hotspot in the middle and one at the edge. Edge temp is 65c and Hotspot is around 80-82c, is that fine in 4K ultra settings? What is maximum hotspot temp?
Are the fan noise normal for this card?

Having a switch on the middle of the card with no text or any information in the manual. The slider switch is set to right, what happens if i take it to the left?

About fan noise i wonder if its completly safe to undervolt the card? In the amd program one can underclock but it gives me a warning about risks and damages if i change any of the settings.
I went with cooler master 240 AIO v2 to get it cooler and quiet and its barley hitting 50c on cpu and is very silent, but what does that help when the card making all this fan noise 😛

Yeah, that card runs real hot. I would expect high fans to compensate. I have a Asrock OC formula 6900 xt and its not quiet. The 4070 ti is a sub 200 watt card so its kind of unfair to compare those cards card given the 6950 xt can eat 400w.

Yes true, it is a beast of a card for that price and it works very well, i tried silent mode in amd software and it went from 82c hottest spot to 90c for a few seconds before it went to 85c, so i switched back to balance mode then it went down to 80c again.
90c should be ok too?
Kinda want to undervolt it or change the fan speed but i think i leave it on balance mode to have full speed when it reach 82c. Would the fans last noticable shorter when using them on full performence or havent it much to say?

90c at the Hotspot is fine. On the core, as long as it's not sustained 90c, it's fine. You don't want it at that temp for hours as it will degrade the big die faster.....

As for the fans, they tend to die at higher speeds at a higher frequency. I have owned so many cards and I have only had a few failures so you should be fine either way....
