Hi,

Title says it all.
I read it all over the forums. My CM V750 (tier one...) can deliver 62A on the +12V rail but ppl having PSUs with even 70Amps on a single +12V rail yet experience this behavior. What is the reason? Is the Cooler Master V750 that crap or is it 'just' a bad unit? Im using the 2x 6+2pin connector to 8pin adapter that is bundled with XFX card.

My PSU is 2.5years old approx.
Motherboard is an Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0. Was using a GTX660Ti without any problem.

What PSU to choose? Im browsing the PSU tier list, for example the Seasonic S12II-620W is a recommended one but it has 2x +12V rail with 2x 24A. That's much less than what my PSU can deliver.

From the pictures, it shows a single 8 pin connector for the card. Your PSU comes with 4 such PCIe power cables. My gut tells me it's probably a bad adapter.

This may also be an older vbios thing with the card drawing too much power from the slot itself and triggering over-current protections. I doubt it though.

I tried all the four separate PCIe connector without the adapter. At the end i just stayed with the adapter.

That was sorted out long before with a driver update.

Since an extra connector might the adapter only bring more instability so i would just do without it. If the card doesn't perform right with any of the adapters should you imo look at the gpu.
Did you test the gpu in another system?

I already tried without the adapter, spent a whole day trying to solve this. Next day im gonna get a PSU from my workplace. How i f*cking hate this.
