You have that written backwards. Display port to DVI, and the rough answer is no. An active adapter might make it work, but that will come with conversion latencies you probably don't want. (Also it would be pretty expensive, might as well spend it on a monitor)

Time to look for a new monitor.

On the positive side, prices for 144hz 1080p panels are way down. You can get one for as low as $120.

Or get a more appropriate 1440p display for your quite potent GPU.
