xl2730z Freesync enable but it's not working

Just bought an xl2730z turned freesync on but I am getting horrible screen tearing

yeah everything is enabled but it doesn't seem to be working i get horrible screen tearing on fps games except for battlefield 4

Do you have a freesync capable GPU?

Yeah I have an r9 390.. freesync enabled.. blacks ops 2 at around 80 90 fps has the same screen tearing that my rl2460ht had but that one didn't have freesync. . Are not all games freesync compatible?

Okay since no one was able to give me an answer i figured it out.. turns out some games (black ops 2) use the refresh rate set on windows and even tho my monitor has freesync and its 144 refresh rate windows 10 had it set at 60 so everytime it went over 60 which was always the screen tearing started even with freesync on.. After switching from 60 to 144 (ON WINDOWS DISPLAY SETTINGS) screen tearing stopped : D.

FreeSync to enable the dynamic rate communication .
If , if you need a tear -free display , you must enable the FreeSync + V-Sync.
