Just purchased almost new Emotiva XPA G3 2 channel amp.. will be using pre-outs of my Yamaha A2050 to feed the XPA to drive my new front Revels F206s in 5.1.4 set-up...

I see the amp has RCA or XLR input; I have to use RCA male from the Yamaha of course, is it better to use XLR into the XPA amp or doesn't matter and just use pair of good RCA to RCA cables??

thanks... this is all new to me, never had an Amp or AVR with XLR cable option

thanks

XLR is more commonly referred to as BALANCED signal and yes it's preferable IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE.

In this case, you don't have a choice because your Yamaha doesn't have XLR. They are not interchangeable. Cannot be simply made to talk to each other by an adapter cable.
