XMP not staying enabled!

For some reason my Patriot Sector 5 1600 modules won't stay at rated speeds even with XMP enabled in BIOS. I've updated BIOS to latest version still no success. It seems to stop working randomly too, a few minutes ago I swapped SATA cables and after I turned my PC on CPU-Z shows 533mhz per DIMM whereas before it showed 800mhz. The only way I've found to fix it is to either reset to optimized defaults in BIOS or reset the CMOS battery, unfortunately this is only temporary. Eventually it will reset to stock speeds again.

Go a step further: replace the CMOS battery.
