Question XMP RAM at 4800 causes GPU issues

I have a strange issue. Updated Z690 motherboard BIOS, turned on XMP profile to run memory at 4800. I have a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. It would run at normal hash rate for about 2 hours and then drop to about half the hash rate. Restarting PC would fix the issue but for about 2 hours. This went on for 2 days. I lowered the RAM back to 3200 and now the GPU is running fine. Why is RAM speed affecting GPU performance? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
