Hello,
Ok so i have an Emachines W3503 running on Windows XP Service Pack 3. I just upgraded everything. Fixed the registry, updated drivers, and ran windows update for the latest software.
I have a Cisco AE2500 Wireless USB adapter. however i connect it to my computer and it does connect but since the driver is not working it does not detect it. when i go to the driver manager it shows the device under unknown and with the yellow exclamation mark. when i right click and go to properties it shows "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)" i have tried manually installing the drivers but it still does the same thing i do not know what to do anymore. can anyone please help?

I already downloaded the drivers and installed them but it still does not work and the setup requires to detect the adapter but since it does not detect it then it does not install

Those USB wireless adapters are finicky - you must install the drivers before you ever attach the device to a USB port, they are not plug and play.

Remove the device from the USB port. See if you can uninstall it using the "?" in Device Manager. The reboot and install the latest available XP driver. Reboot. After XP loads, install the adapter to a USB port. You should now be able to access the wireless adapter.
