I am getting the following error on a xp box, and I don't know what the
problem is.

I have replaced the PC with a new one and reinstalled XP.

The following is the error signature:

BCCode:1000008e BCP1:C0000005 BCP2:805526F2 BCP3:F67D7A4C
BCP4:00000000 OSVer:5_1_2600 SP:2_0 Product:256_1

Can anyone give me some advice on what to look for. I am not sure if this is
a software or hardware related error.

I can email the technical info that windows generates if needed.

Thank you

Tony

The last time I saw something similar to this error but SP1 indicated an Event ID:
1003
This problem could be caused because of corrupted System Restore.

Start, Run, type: eventvwr.msc
Locate the error in possibly Security - double click on it and open it - what is the
Event ID?

Just an idea.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for all posting.

You may also refer to the following Microsoft KB articles:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/893239
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/903251

Based on my research, Nero 6, Filemon, Asus Video card software
(ANVSHELL.EXE), outdated BIOS and so on caused similar issue before. You
may provide more error information (especially which file is corrupted) if
possible for further troubleshooting.

Hope this helps!

Have a nice day!

Sincerely,
Tom Che
