XP on Ryzen ?

Why would anyone even try this? Isn't it time to let XP head off into the sunset (where it belongs)?

Because of many games not running even in W7 let alone W10. Also not running in a VM, that's why.

Why not just build a retro gaming rig that can stay offline(best place for XP).

Because than I couldn't use my new shining toy for them. Already running W10, W7 and 2 Linux distros.

So you only get to use 4GB RAM.
And no SSD.
And no recent GPU

XP x64 Pro = 128GB support. Drivers for GPU maybe a real problem but could stick another, older one like HD 7770 or even R7 260 (have XP x64 drivers) that I have sitting around, should be enough for those games and still run up good scores.

Problem is is most of the games you need XP for don't work on 64-bit XP. The 64-bit version of XP had horrible driver and software support.

x64 is even worse than regular XP.
Very limited support.

I want to say you could use Server 2003 drivers if there were no XP Pro 64-bit drivers available.
