Have deleted all printers, all drivers and am trying to reinstall HP OfficeJet PRO 8000 (series).
One desktop, Win7, prints OK.
Second desktop, XP SP3, will not print (print queue lists several documents, first one w/ "error".
I think the problem is that you need to set the printer as a network printer so that more then one OS can print to it. That means that the printer has to be connected to the router and installed as a network printer.
Did you install the CORRECT drivers for BOTH operating systems ? Not the same ones...
All the best Brett
Well - if I remember correctly - (IF) - the XP was used to install when the printer was purchased (2010), and the Win7 was acquired later (and used to "add printer" at that time).
Both XP and W7 had been printing with no problems until I tried to update the driver with a download from HP site about 4 days ago. Now the W7 desktop prints normally, but the XP (and 2 XP laptops) no longer can recognize the default printer. Once problem appeared I deleted all printers (and drivers) on the XP and then tried to reinstall the printer using the HP installation disc.
So, to answer your inquiry .... I assume that proper drivers are in place (big ASSUME).
