I just got done reformating my drive and loading xp pro. Things look ok
for the most part, but xp pro cannot seem my audio device. It just plain
says that there is not one at all. xp home didnt have any problem seeing it.

I tried Everest, and it sees the audio controller fine. Problem is, going to
the Intel web site it says that there is currently no software available for
download for that device.

I've tried every way I know of having xp update the driver, but it keeps
coming back saying it cannot find the software for it.

Am I going to have to go buy a new sound card? Any thoughts very much
appreciated.

Thanks.

Check on the motherboard manufacturer's web site so as to see which audio
system your motherbaord is using. Intel may not have made the audio system.

If the motherboard was not made by Intel directly, the manufacturer's web
site should have to driver for you. You could also check on the CD that was
included with the motherboard.
