XP SP2 Stops on cd when rebooted

In a normal boot after successful installation, it shouldn't even be in the drive.

If the reboot is during installation, don't press any key when prompted - by that stage, there's enough installed information for the system to fly and continue with the installation.

Unfortunatley installation was aborted and on restart it goes to "Setup is being restarted on a blue screen then goes black and cursor in the middle. So in essence the Setup never did complete.

Maybe the CD has a flaw. Try cleaning it with a dab of toothpaste on the tip of your finger then polishing it off with a dry lint-free cloth and definitely NOT any wood-based kitchen paper. Was there a blue screen with a Stop Error message when the setup aborted?
