I need a second computer to run AutoCAD R14. I currently use Windows 10 with Virtual box. Would it be less trouble to make a Windows XP computer only or duplicate the virtual box with Windows 10. Trying to forsee any potential problems.

As jojesa said, it would be easier to use a virtual box to run your autocad program. If you build a new system, you will be at your wits end trying to find drivers for XP that are compatible with the new hardware you would purchase.

AutoCAD R14 is from 1998, that's why I use Windows XP. Just was wondering if it would give me less problems using straight XP.
I should have said is no longer supported on Windows XP.

It should not give you any problems if you already have Windows XP on an old system.
Installing Windows XP could be an issue, since it won't run on new hardware.

By the way, last year, I got AutoCAD R14 to run on Windows 7 and 10 on an electrician's desktop and laptop using the Longbow AutoCAD converted.
