i have a asus a7n8x deluxe mb

What revision is your motherboard? The very earliest revisions would've been the first revision of the nforce2 chipset, which only officially supported up to 166. Most would clock to 200 or very near, some would not. It was the slightly later 'Nforce2 Ultra 400' which gave official support for 200FSB.

For example, by Epox 8RDA+ mobo would only do 196FSB until I replaced the northbridge heatsink.

Are you running your RAM in Dual Channel (if you have 2 sticks) It might not be happy running dual channel at the higher speed.

Dual channel or not, try raising your memory timings and/or slightly increasing VDimm.

You say it 'Just Hangs' - How far does it get? Past the POST, into windows?

I'm assuming it's probably not a heat or power issue, as a xp3200+ isn't going to consume that much more than a 2800+, or produce that much more heat.

well i checked the heatsink and its sitting properly. i flashed my bios to rev 1.08 and now i was able to go to 200fsb but only in safe mode . i checked in the control panel /sys and cpu was xp3200 . so it works in safe mode.
now in normal it will hang at the desktop right after windows loads . it will hang and you cant move the pointer . can anyone help me get this working normal..

thanks..

well i just got a new northbridge cooler and installed it with some artic silver ,and i still cant get 200fsb to work on this board . a7n8x deluxe pcb1.04 with crucial ddr3200 ram. helpppp

Hmm thats not good. Go to Asus.com and get the latest bios for that mobo which is 1008. May also up the vdimm to about 2.7v or 2.8v. Another thing you can try is to flash the CMOS, pull the battery on the mobo for 2mins.

My rev 1.04 board wouldn't quite make it to 200 either. I just settled for 196. Maybe you will have to as well.
You could also make a stink with Asus. They may send you a newer revision, that will work.
