XP941 256GB with GIGABYTE GA-Z97MX Gaming 5

Hi all

I have a new setup which includes:
GIGABYTE GA-Z97MX Gaming 5
i7-4790s
16GB Kingston Beast
and the Samsung XP941 256GB
the only way I'm able to boot from the samsung is using the on board M.2 port and not using my Bplus adapter using the PCIe
I get around 700MB/s read and write but I'm sure I should get much more

any ideas ?

They say up to read 1170 write 950 if your getting 700 that's not to bad they use specific bench programs when listing the specks.
700 is freakey fast.
