I restarted my pc the other day and the POST lights hung on lights 3 and 4. which is a RAM error. I troubleshooted for a while and I can only get 1 of my 4 1gb ram sticks to work. It will work in any of the 4 slots. NONE of the other sticks work by themselves or paired with the good one. How could it be that 3 sticks just magically dont work??

thats what I would think too. they are regular pc5300. I just got 2 of them a month ago but the other one I cant get working is one of the originals. The PC is still under warranty. Im sure those other PNY sticks are too.

i jus got off the phone with dell. they are sending me a replacement stick of RAM for one of them that quit working so I will then be able to see if it really is the RAM or the computer.

idk if the xps is different but from my experience w\ dells i've never had the option of changing ram speeds.

if 1 stick works in each slot and the other 3 don't work, they must be bad ( i would think )
