Question XPS 8700 I5 6400

I need to upgrade. without buying a new system. I have a gt730 card and my video work suffers a lot. if I did a GPU upgrade would I still get a bottleneck because of the CPU? What would be a good GPU for me?

A0084881 Dell XPS8900 (W260904TH) Not sure this will help. Sorry, it's an 8900, not 8700. Would changing the GPU work? Or do I need to do both?
