Recently found an believed to be old XPS Studio 8000 pc. Thought i'd chuck my gpu/ram and give it a spin comparing to my current pc (max of 2 4gb ram and a first gen i5) this one went ahead and after reinstalling windows, ssd, 2 8gb ram sticks and my 1660ti managed to get improved fps in games drastically (comparing my first i5 was terrible)

However maybe an hour or two later i encountered errors with my pc randomly freezing up a couple hours into it and going onto crash forcing a restart
quick investigation into device manager View: https://imgur.com/NUMCA8N

have attempted, uninstalling this driver and restarting, windows update, drivescape's driver scanner, googling an driver via my pcs model and "Ven 8086 and Dev 3B64" unable to find anything

Windows update attempts give me back a
Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070103: Intel - Other hardware - Intel(R) Management Engine Interface.

After rebooting from crashes in the event log the errors i get are

"Intel(R) Management Engine Interface driver has failed to perform handshake with the Firmware."

Pc details listed below - No idea what happened with the Cpu being "000"but tower has an I7 sticker on it and it very clearly performs much better over my old I5

Your prebuilt system has support for Windows 7 at the most. For this reason, you're going to have to install MEI drivers using the compatibility method, i.e Right click installer>Compatibility Tab>Windows 7(from the drop down menu).

So I'm all good installing the drivers however, the only correct driver for the MEI was this https://drp.su/en/hwids/PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3B64?os=windows-7-x64

which gives me a .inf file to install the driver and after googling i still don't have a clue how to install this file in compatibility unless theres a exe file lurking somewhere i haven't worked out how to install in compatibility mode yet

--Update--
http://deviceinbox.com/drivers/304-intel-management-engine-interface-all-windows.html

after downloading the and trying these two files from the link above
6irb03ww.exe - Auto install (4.8 mb) v.6.2.50.1050 by Lenovo
me_6.0.0.1184_al00.zip - Auto install (11.3 mb) v.6.0.0.1184 by MSI

still has the same error after restarting "this device cannot start - a device which does not exist was specified"
