[SOLVED] XSPC Raystorm AM4 Compatibility?

Hey guys,

I am planning on upgrading CPU/MoBo in the near future, but I would like to keep my open loop setup. I have an older XSPC D5 Raystorm Kit from 2012 or so. Here is my current kit:

It comes with AMD bracket for AM3+ and under. Do you know if that bracket will fit AM4 or do I need to look for an adapter?

That's actually quite a solid gaming cpu nowadays, if paired with a mid-low end gpu.

This got best answer so it popped up, sorry I did not answer before

It's because cpus haven't gotten much much faster in the last 10 years or so

intel has been adding cores, and making the clocks higher, but actual single core, per clock performance has stayed almost the same, with the biggest improvement being 4th-6th gen, with around 10%.

So you your i7 is abit slower than a current gen i3, which is super solid for gaming.
