Today I visited my library, and noticed they had a few NEC 1550x's at their desks. I took a look, and damn, xtraview technology is impressive! The image was really great even when viewed from an angle! I think NEC could score some big points w/ xtraview and FFD!

hehe, if they had FDD I would'be bought one by now No wonder my dad's business uses NEC- very impressive display in viewing angle.

i was thinking of a nec also, but i could not see which one was good or not, by the specs. but anyway my samsuing 170t is comming soon and then i will check how good that monitor is

nice words flame. my compusa did not have the monitor so i bought it online, if it does not work good, i will feel bad but i can probably sell it to someone i know ro get a restock fee for 15%

What is FFD? I'm new to this group - I'm trying to decide to drop a grand now, or later. Should I wait? Is FFD a new technology? Why is it better?

I don't know that much, but i know enough, and i had the same problem... FDD technology will improve the LCD greatly. I am not gonna blow $1,000 and over on a product that isn't going to really be worth it. I have been using CRT's my whole life, i can Wait another few months or even a YR to get the quality i am Looking for! I don't want to have any problems when i play games on my LCD, the FDD technology will improve that alot!.... so just wait and be patient and you will be much happier!

i ahve played some games on my 170T and i dont notice the response time(25ms) anyway im not a hardcore gamer either
