Question XWD and molex connector on game max predator RGB full tower

Hi there

I have a question about a couple of connectors from the fan hub in the Game max predator RGB full tower.

1 is the molex power connector. This has male and female ends. Do I just need to plug this into the molex power connector on my PSU in one end or both ends for it to work?

2 is the XWD connector. It’s a 3 pin female connector that comes with a 3 pin male adapter that ends to a 3 pin motherboard connector, but only has the middle pin connected.
What is this cable for and where does this plug into on my mother board?

Not sure how to add pics to the post, so added these links to my one drive pic, which probably won't work, but thought I'd try it anyway.
But it's the same connector as this one pictured below in this forum

I'm not sure what an "XWD connector" is, but it appears you have found it is a cable with a 3-pin ADDR RGB female connector on the end. And your mobo does not have such a header.

Well, here's what I can guess from the web page for that case. It includes a Hub that serves to power and control both the fans motors and the ADDR RGB lighting units in the fan frames. Manual for this is here

http://www.gamemaxpc.com/downloaddocu/showdownload.php?id=25

It has five sets of output connectors for the fans. For EACH set there is a 4-pin PWM fan motor connector, and beside it a 3-pin ADDR RGB lighting cable connector. Each fan will have two cables from it to plug into those port connector pairs. The Hub has two male connectors on one end - a white one for connecting to a Molex power output from the PSU with a supplied cable, and a black one for plugging in a cable from the case's front switches that control fan motors and RGB lights. The Molex connecting cable may end in both male and female Molex plugs, and that's just to "replace" the female one that was "used" when you plugged the male connector into the PSU output. The Hub has a single white connector on the opposite end labelled "PWM-??" You should be plugging into that a cable from a mobo 4-pin fan header, I think, so that the Hub can get a PWM signal from that header and use it to control all of the case fans plugged into this Hub.

Now, the Hub does NOT have an obvious connector for that "XWD cable" to the mobo ADDR RGB header (that you don't have). So, I do NOT think the Hub can use a mobo control signal if there is one. Instead, I suspect IF you have a mobo ADDR RGB header, that cable is to be used as an alternative to using the Hub to control the fan lighting. But lacking that, I see on the case web page it says "RF Remote Controller – The RF remote controller makes it easier to change the colour combinations and you can light up your fans using the several colour modes the fans have to offer, you will never run out of ideas." Apparently it comes with a hand-held control box for the RGB lighting when the fan light cables are connected to the Hub's 3-pin outputs.

Hi Paperdoc

Thanks for the reply. Yeah after more search, I found out that it's a 3 pin addressable RGB lighting cable. Checking out my motherboard, there isn't any RGB connector on it, so it mustn't support that. The case does come with a RF remote, so I'll be able to use that to control the fans. Fans are all working anyways, so I'll have a play around with it and see how I get on.

Cheers all
