The GB says that RoEM only gives you Fire- and Cold immunity, but I
also got Shock immunity from one.

I think this is a YAGBU too. I noticed that earlier, maybe I forgot to
tell Andy... but this should get updated. Besides, Giant Slug corpses
are abundant, non? 🙂

Just Greater ID'ed one (in 1.0.0).

-------------- uncursed ring of elemental mastery---------------

When used in melee combat it grants a +0 bonus to hit and causes 1d1
points of damage. When used as a missile it grants a +0 bonus to hit
and causes 1d1 points of damage.
It grants immunity to fire.
It grants immunity to cold attacks.

And that's why it was missing from the guidebook: It has changed to also
give shock immunity in 1.1.1; I just Greater IDed one myself 😉

I see. Wonder why? It is powerful enough as it is. After
all Cold and Fire are the only immunities that cannot be
gained by corpses. It seems a wee bit too powerful
considering it is 'only' a ring and can be wished for.

That is not the case. The ToEF Chaos Wyrm gives fire
resistence. The only Wyrm that bestows immunity is the
greater blue wyrm who gives lightning immunity. Apart from
that blessed lightning lizards have 10% chance of shock
immunity and giant slugs guaranteed acid immunity.

Like suggested a minor degree of damage. There is no
special levels of fire resistence according to the
codedivers. However resistence stacks. If you recieve 10%
damage with one, you will recieve 1% with two sources of
resistence. A good example is the ToEF. If you have THREE
sources of fire resistence AND the Healing skill at 100
you will completely suppress the background damage. In
fact you can use continous walk and it works more or less
like immunity, with notable exceptions. Even with Healing
on 99 it won't work. My efforts at the brimstone man is
the source of this information.

That doesn't really make sense, with the way that healing works. There
_could_ be some special check to see if healing is 100 in the tower, but
I doubt it... the healing skill has a random chance to heal you every
turn, (HealingSkill / 1200) IIRC. So 99 healing isn't much different
than 100 healing. (This is quite different from concentration, which
actually has more checks depending on the level of concentration -
having 100 concentration is literally 4 times better than having only
74. Having 100 is ~25% better than having 99.)

'Stacking' is a bit vague, so to clarify it basically means you'll have
another chance with the same success/failure rate. So those numbers are
correct (for the example 10%, I'm not sure of the specifics here) -
you'll have 2 90% chances which equals a 99% chance.

Btw, go look at my corpse effects post if you want the specifics for
what corpses give what, although the specific questions have already
been mostly covered here.

I thought that eating ancient dragon or wyrm corpses gave you all
immunities. At least the ancient whatshisnames corpse at the
top of tower of eternal flames gives you fire immunity (If I'm not
wrong).

This might be a stupid question but what is the difference
between lvl3 fire resistance and immunity to fire?

The difference is 1 HP. Don't laugh, it can mean life or death
sometimes. For drakelings, the diffrence is a bit errr different.

Or alternatively: One exists (immunity to fire), while the other doesn't
(lvl3 fire resistance).
