Yamaha RN 500

What is the best setup?
Rega RP6 to Rega Fono MM to Yamaha RN500 Line 1, or
Rega RP6 to Phono MM input on Yamaha RN500.

Yamaha RN 500 mainly used for playing vinyl.

My guess would be that the Rego Fono MM is better than the phone preamp in the Yamaha.
If you want to be sure get one from a dealer with a return option so if you try it and don't find it better you aren't stuck with it. Tell the dealer this is what you want to do up front and they should be able to accommodate you.
