Yamaha RX-V679 Amp to Sony Bluetooth WH-1000XM2 Pairing

The Yamaha amp has built-in Bluetooth as I've streamed Spotify through it many times. The headphones are Bluetooth. Yet I cannot find even in their manual how to pair the two together. There is a WPS button on the front of the amp for pairing to my network but nothing about Bluetooth pairing. Any help is appreciated.

I suspect that the receiver has a bluetooth receiver built in but not a transmitter. If it has a headphone jack you can connect a transmitter to it with the correct cable and pair you headphones with that,

I always assumed Bluetooth was a two-way communication. In today's age to have only one direction seems pretty dumb. That said, can I just buy a Bluetooth transmitter on Amazon and plug it into the receiver, pair it, then start using it that way? Is there a specific type or connection type I should consider? Would I have to change the audio output to listen with headphones? Thanks,

The RX-V679 does have a Bluetooth transmit feature, however it must be enabled.

Press "On screen" on remote control
Setup
Bluetooth
Audio send
Transmitter - on

Then you should be able to pair your headphones
