Yellow Flag on Secondary Controller

Hello,
I'm using 98 window second edition. Epox motherboard with 950 althon cpu. On my primary-cdrom & Maxtor HD(46 gig) no problems. Secondary has 2 46 gig HD's.(Has problems). Secondary shows in bootup..In device manager it says my HD's are running in msdos mode. Went into registry & checked for "Noide" not there. No conflicting IRQ's. Drivers are ESDI 506.pdr & VMM32/105.VXD. How can I get the secondary controller to run correctly?

In device manager, right-click on the secondary IDE controller "device" listed under IDE controllers and see if there are any properties you can tweak. At the hardware level, something to check is to make sure that the two hard drives are set up as a master and a slave, not as two masters.

The jumpers are all set correctly.

What about the "properties" screen for the IDE controller, anything you can change there that would help?

Just a guess. Try with only HD's on the primary IDE and the CDrom on the secondary IDE. Can't hurt and might work.

It maybe disabled in the Bios.
