Yellow Tint On Monitor

I have a problem with my new monitors. To be exact only one of the two. I bought two of these monitors last month. The first one works great and I have no problems. The second has a yellow tint to it out of the box. I have sent it back three times and all the replacements have the same problem. They both use DP connections from my graphics card. I have tried to swap cables from my good one to the bad and it is still the same. For the life of me I do not know if this is a problem of buying cheap monitors with extremely poor quality control or something that I am not seeing.

Color shift can happen on both axis. A vesa mount doesn't mean you won't have a problem with it. The only way to be sure is to sit directly in front of the monitor when you observe it. If it's off to the side it can cause a shift.

But it sounds like you just got two different panels. It sucks. You can try to use the NVidia control panel to fix the color manually. But otherwise you'll need to use a color calibration tool to get the colors the same. Some thing like the Data color spyder.

Have you tried plugging the one with the tint into a different DP connector on your GPU? Have you also tried using the other cable? Have you tried both of these at the same time?

Trying both cables and both ports, does the problem persist if the yellow tinted monitor is the only monitor that's hooked up? Make sure to unplug the other cable from the GPU.

If at any point in this testing the yellow tint should move to the other monitor, then try to identify whether it's the port on the card or the DP cable.

Please reply with results.

Just because two monitors are the same model doesn't always mean they use the same parts. It's not uncommon for monitors to switch panels or LED backlights.

1. Are you sitting directly in front of the monitor as you observe the yellow tint? Cheap monitors have poor viewing angles which can cause colors to shift

2. Have you reset the monitors OSD to default? Have you tried setting the color to "cool"

I have tried to use the same cable from the good monitor using the port it was hooked up to while it was on the good monitor as well as on a different port. Same result. I also tried it with only one cable plugged into the GPU. No improvement.

They are mounted using a VESA mount so the angle should not be a problem. Setting it to cool does improve it, but I lose brightness on that setting. Also tried to reset.
