So apparently my Windows Defender recently is acting strange, like its shows a yellow triangle that says "actions recommended" but when i check security dashboard it seems there's no problem that needed to tend of.

Here's some screenshots:

Solution

Usually, a triangle on an ICON under the far right up arrow in the taskbar simply means there is an update available. This happens all the time with my Nvidia settings software ICON. You can simply right-click on your Windows Defender ICON in that area to get a list of things to do. The list will include these 4 tasks:

Run quick scan;
Check for protection updates;
View notification options;
View security dashboard.

Checking...
Just click on the different icons on the left. You will find it listed there.
Or ignore it, because there is a bug that the warning symbol appears even without a real cause.
It might be something as simple as "You need to sign into Microsoft Account".
Just ignore it, so it won't ask you again.
I find that very distracting and quite annoying, since you might think a malware found its way into your PC.
Sometimes, the yellow triangle appears when the Automatic sample submission is disabled.

I see this happen all the time.

I see it happen on multiple machines.

Those two indicators don't always agree.

Just make sure you download the latest Windows Defender updates and I think you will be fine. I always have been....so far at least.

What will happen is ....you will look at it in the future...and they will all of a sudden agree. I think it's a screwy Windows thing.

Checking for updates and installing them might make the triangle go away and turn into a green check mark again.

Hi,
I just across here via google to find the solution for such problem. I've found and solved it ready. I don't know whether you have solved it yet or not. Anyway, just want to share. So, just check out following link then you'd be able to solve this.

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/protect/forum/all/windows-defender-yellow-exclamation-mark-but-no/17d595aa-2e39-43fc-a405-03d3abc00e2c

https://www.zubairalexander.com/blog/unexpected-yellow-warning-symbol-on-windows-defender-in-windows-10/

On the other hands, the answer in two link above not clear about turn off "Cloud-delivered protection". So, if that exclamation mark still show, you have to turn it off too.

Thanks.
