Yet Another Graphics Card Dilemma (Mid-High End)...

Hi there. I'm looking for a mid-high end grfx card for my C2D build (first time :) ). I'm torn between these:
7900GT
X1900GT
X1900XT
EVGA GTs have the step-up program, useful if DX 10 comes out in the next 3 months. But according to these benchmarks: http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2812 the X1900XT is head and shoulders above Nvidia yet on Newegg its MSI, Connect3D, and Sapphire flavors are as cheap as the 7900GTs. The X1900GT is about on par with the 7900GT, but is only $200. ATI also has HDR+AA.
I might upgrade to a multi-GPU solution at some point. SLI seems more mature. But Crossfire boards for Conroe are widely available, while Nforce590 for Conroe is not here yet. I'm also concerned about the price of mobos with this chipset. The Crossfire X1900 is also slower than its XT counterpart. Or I could wait for the X1950 Crossfire, which isn't slower. But could this go over my $300 budget (which is flexible though).

Suggestions?

Or maybe I'll win that $10,000 PC and this will all be a moot point.

X1900XT is best of those three, and best deal IMO. Good prices on them. Go for that, and then upgrade to a next-gen card in like 8-12 months.

performance:
X1900XT clear winner.
7900GT barely jumps into 2nd place
X1900GT third.

But pricing makes me say:
X1900XT
X1900GT ($195 newegg)
7900GT.

Of course to be honest, you missed one of the best deals, the X1800XT, SO now I have to redo it all.

performance:
X1900XT
X1800XT/7900GT OC
7900GT
X1900GT

Pricing:
X1900XT/X1800XT
X1900GT
7900GT

I need some asprin now. :?

Wait for the X1950XTX to make an appearance, it should knock prices down.
