After fixing an unrelated annoyance on my laptop, I broke a 4-pin connector while reassembling. Woops. I reassembled it anyways since I wanted to monitor the temperatures. Instead, I learned that my laptop doesn't power on at all--making me think the motherboard died (how??).

Zero response to the power button. The only sign of life is the LED that indicates charging, which changed color depending on how charged the laptop is.

I am like 90% sure it's reassembled correctly. I even checked again today. There is no way a missing fan connector will prevent a computer from booting at all. If it is, perhaps replacing the fan entirely is a fix + attaching a new connector. I have a soldering station to work with.

some models wont power on without fan attached. Might be something else broken, you literally even ripped the pads off some of the motherboard side connector pins.

Take it to professional if he could solder new pads from the traces and reattach fan connector b y resoldering it?

Motherboard might still be fine
