going through Tr2 again (offshore rig) right at the begining they want you
to play footsies with the guards...before getting lara's guns back. when
there is an alternative that lets you bypass them (for a while).

That's the official guide? I've never read any of it as it is too expensive.
Anyway, with so many great walkthroughs online, who needs the book? 😉

Well, the short way was found by accident. Lara would have to serve as a
target to get the glass broken to get back with the guards. Did she also had
to get a switch pulled too? Don't think so but even then, she would have to
stand at a very specific angle to be able to jump right on the plane (it was
a plane right?). I usually do it after Lara fell into the water again after
going the long way. Anyway, the long way earns Lara some goodies (a secret?)
so it's quite worth it.
