I am upgrading my comp on sort of a limited budget $600 or so. It will be used for gaming.

Right know i have a frys system its got a intel pent. sckt 478 3.0ht with ecs 865g-micro atx mobo with pny 256mb 6600agp. 512mb dual channel elixer ram pc 3200. win xp media. I cant play quake 4 or nfsu with much of the eyecandy or it becomes a slide show with dubbed sound.

The parts i plan on reusing are all P/ata WD200gb hd. 2 dvd burners and 1 floppy. Is p/ata and IDE the same ?

The parts I have in waiting
Ultra xfinity 600w psu $60
Thermaltake XaserV WinGo Case (V7000D) - Blue $55
Windows xp pro$100

So I have about $600 to buy whatever else i need my thoughts so far

Amd 64 x2/3800 w/free ecsK8t890a mobo $279 "frys"
Gigabyte Ga-K8n Pro mobo $90 "clubit"
or Ecs Kn1 extreme $119 "newegg"
HIS Hightech Radeon X800GTO IceQ II Turbo 256MB $195 "newegg"

Besides the 512mb elixr i have 1gb pc3200 kingston value ram
+/- couple dollars is fine

I wont be overclocking at least not till i read more about how to do it.

So what do you guys think? Any thoghts? Ideas?
Thanks for looking/helping :D

I to am curios to see what people say about your Pata stuff
I suspect your ram might hold You back.
