News You know what's NOT a Black Friday deal? RTX 4090 cards at $2,000 or more as prices soar on this 'banned in China' GPU

Looking like a a whole year of not being able to get a 4090 before Nvidia has pity and launches their next card late in 2024 or early 2025.

Jokes aside I do wonder where they will build the cards India or Africa?

I feel like I've been reading about Black Friday since September. The sales event has lost all serious meaning now with how badly it's overused. Hopefully consumers aren't swayed by the pricing games this year.

As for the 4090, best play on that is probably to wait out the recent price increases.

I think what happened is a game finally came out that pushes a 4090 to the limit with all features active i.e. Alan Wake 2. Prior to that, you could easily get by with a 4080 or 4070.

for these to be come affordable here, black friday, boxing day. amazon prime day and hell would have to partially freeze over, all at once.

the start at $2230 and top out at $4400 !!

Cyberpunk has been able to bring a 4090 to its knees, at least since April.

If you count resolution scalers in, Far Cry can also do it.

Same goes for Metro Exodus Enhanced and The Last Of Us.

As for 4070, its pathetic 12 GBs of VRAM will get you CTDs, even at 1080p, with some AAA titles.

First reaction: good thing I bought my RTX 4090/4070/4060 cards when they were just standard rip-off (and not quite as bad as their 3000 series predecessors during Covid-19).

Second reaction: perhaps I should sell them now, I could actually make money on them, right?

Third reaction: what if one of them fails today or anytime soon? Can I even afford to buy a replacement? They are out of warranty!

Why can't I ever get a break?
