"Your device appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource is not responding." Anytime my laptop dies

Hi there. I've had an ongoing issue with my computer for quite awhile now where whenever my laptop dies, the internet completely stops working under the troubleshooting message "Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the DNS is not responding." I typically have to go through literal hours, sometimes days of just entering in the commands into command prompt that the internet suggests: "Ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /registerdns, netsh winsock reset, ipconfig /release, and ipconfig /renew."
Eventually, it decides to work. I havent found a definite pattern of what works, only that it seems to take longer and longer to fix every single time. I have tried nearly every solution you'll find on forums for this issue and it never fixes it right away. This time I have been at it for five hours straight with no avail.
What I dont understand is why this only occurs when my laptop dies.

Any help would be appreciated.

First issue: why is the laptop dying?

Look in the Event Viewer logs for error codes and warnings that happen just before or at the time of the laptop's "dying".

Reference for Event Viewer:

http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-3128616/windows-event-viewer.html

When the laptop dies/crashes files can be and are corrupted. And that can include configuration information in the registry and other places.

Use Event Viewer to examine what has been happening. It will take time and effort to explore the Event Viewer logs but no harm in doing so.

Sometimes Event Viewer will report no data but it is really still out collecting data and may populate the screen with log events after a few minutes or so.

Right-clicking any given Event will provide more information.

Again, the objective is to look for and find error codes and warnings just before or at the time of the "dying" or crash.
